Splendour in the grass

GLEN Waverley resident Mirini Lang will share her native garden with the community as part of Australia's Open Garden Scheme in March.

From March 20-21, some of Australia's best private gardens will be open to the public. Mrs Lang's garden has been described as a suburban oasis of young, predominantly Australian plants.

Designed by landscape gardener Phil Johnson, the garden has winding paths, a billabong, vegetable area and large fern collection. It's open from 10am-4.30pm at 25 Kennedy Street, Glen Waverley; cost is $6. Details: www.opengarden.org.au
