Closure would be 'regressive'

ADOLESCENT psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg has spoken out in support of Berengarra.

Dr Carr-Gregg told the Journal that the closure of Berengarra would be a "really serious and regressive step for Victorian education".

"I think it's a really wonderful school for people essentially kicked out of their own school.

"It literally turns around the lives of 80per cent of its kids. Not to have that any more would be a burden on those young people, their families and, most importantly, society. Most [of these] kids, if they are not at Berengarra, are going to get into trouble; we're talking about major crimes against people and property."
